MESH MOUNT PAPER COMPANY makes perforated paper and specialty adhesive film, Tile Tape, for mounting stone, ceramic and glass tiles. The paper is typically used for back mounting, the tape is for front or face mounting.

BACK MOUNT PAPER
Stone and ceramic tile manufacturers as well as companies creating mosaics, borders, medallions, accents, corners, and listellos use our back mount papers to preassemble patterns.

Sheets: We stock 11-1/8” x 11-1/2” and can make 11-1/8” x 1” up to 99” long. Paper is .0115” thick, extra strength, white mounting stock. Surface is ideal for gluing, compatible with all appropriate adhesives. Perforated pattern is 3/8” holes on 1/2” staggered centers.

Rolls: We stock rolls 11–1/2” wide x 1,800' long. Paper is .009” thick natural kraft. This is a bi-directionally strong paper with good wet strength properties and excellent gluing surface. Holes are 3/8” square, staggered.

Mesh Mount Paper Users: Small shop mosaic artisans, large ceramic tile manufacturers, and everyone between use Mesh Mount Paper to make mosaics, borders, medallions, accents, listellos, corners, and more. Application is manual, semi–automated, or fully automated; our rolls are designed for use in meshing machines.

Adhesives: For gluing the tiles to the paper, most manufacturers use white PVA glues such as Elmer’s® or thinned wood glue. For increased adhesion, apply the adhesive to the paper only. Where water resistance is a major consideration, water resistant adhesives can be used, or try our front mount Tile Tape.

Mortar Adhesion: Mesh mount paper has a 55% open area, so more than half of the rear surface of your tile makes contact with the mortar/thinset. Hundreds of stone and tile companies have had great success for over 30 years using mesh mount paper.

TILE TAPE: In response to overwhelming requests from tile artisans and manufacturers, we have developed Tile Tape – a front mount clear adhesive film which is strong enough to hold tiles and mosaic pieces for packaging, transit, and installation, but is designed to release after installation without leaving adhesive residue on the stone, glass, or ceramic tiles. Tile Tape has many advantages over other tapes and the various front–mount methods in use today.

Tile Tape is easy to use: simply peel it off the roll and apply; no release paper to pull off and discard; no gluing necessary.

Excellent strength characteristics: Tile Tape is very hard to tear.

Self–leveling: eliminates the different levels in the surface created by stone and tile pieces of differing thickness.

It is see–through so installer can see the tile pattern while installing.

The adhesive is water resistant so it will not lose adhesion while at the workplace due to accidental exposure to water.

100% adhesion of tile back to mortar.

Aesthetically pleasing when it is on stone, ceramic or glass tiles.

Ideal for pools and other wet applications where you want total tile contact with mortar; no backing between your material and the mortar.

We stock rolls 6” and 12” wide x 50’.
